El Molino Morisco de los Corchos
The river Sanguino, blood river, runs through the private woodlands at El Roble and just 1 km down stream brings you to the famous "El Molino Morisco de los Corchos" or "The Moorish Cork Mill".
This is one of a few mills of its type left in the Malaga region and is said to date back to the 1400's. The mill was driven by the water from the river and when in full operation ground mainly wheat. In the 20th century it was also used to crush the locally grown cork to make corks for wine bottles.
The owner, whose family has owned the mill for many generations, is happy to show visitors around. There is no entrance fee but a donation is usually given at the end of the tour.
